Educators are struggling mightily in schools. Not only are they tired and worried and experiencing their own family issues, they have students who are acting out, demonstrating anger and fear and other outsized behavior.

To address these concerns, the founders of the Virtual Teachers Lounge will discuss and engage participants in conversations about trauma, student behavior, measuring achievement and educator wellness. Participants will be able to share actual in-the-trenches experiences and together with the facilitators, we will explore possible tips and strategies to enable surviving these novel and difficult times in education.

VTL would like to thank our sponsors: The Massachusetts PTA Association, The Rutgers Graduate School of Education, Proctor Institute and The Children’s Literacy Foundation.

Thank you to our sponsors and supporters.

Welcome to the Lounge

The Virtual Teachers’ Lounge is a safe, confidential space where current teachers and facilitators can engage in conversations about the challenges of teaching in today’s complex world.  The idea is to enable educators to share, vent, and problem-solve the issues they confront and the complex feelings they are experiencing across the PreK — 12 educational landscape.

For our upcoming programs, we have 3 Zoom dates already in place for Winter and Spring 2024.

In addition, we are continuing to offer a Zoom “call-in” hotline for registered participants for pressing problems.  Calls are initiated based on participant needs.

To learn more about the VTL’s first two cohorts, please visit our “Past Programs and Outcomes” page or click HERE.

We look forward to welcoming you.

How To Register for a VTL Program

The Virtual Teachers’ Lounge began as a pilot program in 2020 during the pandemic. We’ve added new programs for 2024. Teachers may visit our “Programs” page for more information and to register for an upcoming program.

We try to keep our classes and workshops small. Twenty participants will be notified of their selection by the Virtual Teachers’ Lounge faculty. Those on the waitlist will be notified when there is a cancellation or new virtual teacher rooms opening.

All participants will receive an educational resource (The Feeling Alphabet Activity Set), and a certificate of participation for volunteering their time.

Beyond the LOUNGE

As educators we welcome your ideas and suggestions for ways to expand this pilot program to offer teachers and schools ideas and programs with teacher wellness in mind. Please reach out to us by email or ask about joining our program as a facilitator.
